To all
friends of the Boundary Stones:
THANK YOU
TO ALL THE 47 VOLUNTEERS!! Tremendous Job by everyone,
especially the group leaders, Scott Wolf & Lonnie Murray, and
all the return volunteers who have done this more than once and
are a big reason why this weekend's effort was such a HUGE
SUCCESS!!! My thanks also to Scott, Bill Nell, and Marian
Kopecky for helping to spread mulch at the sites
on Sunday.
Thanks to
everyone for all the help, no way this happens without each and
everyone of you!!! It was great to meet you all and work
together as a team. We had volunteers from ASCE, DCALS, DAR,
AECOM, Metro,
Hope you
all will consider helping out with future projects (next one
will be in May 2012). We now have 13 fences restored and 21 to
go! We will also be working with the
necessary parties on installing new fences at the stones where
there are damaged fences or no fences at all. And don't forget
the work that needs to be done at SE#4 getting that stone back
in the ground or the work at the SE #8 site getting another
replica stone installed.

"Before & After" Photos of the work done by Team #2 at the North
Cornerstone. BIG SHOUT OUT to Tim Summerall of DCALS who is a 3
time volunteer and helped to lead this effort. This team also
spent time clearing the woods of trash, debris, and fallen tree
limbs. We were honored that representatives from the Current
(Cal Straumsheim & Bill Petros) and Mt. Vernon Estate (Becca
Milfeld) were onsite to report on the goings on. Many thanks to
all the neighbors who came out to help with the effort!
